The Performance

‘House of Flowers, House of Stars’ is a story-telling event, a performance that pays tribute to Beni Montresor’s work as a children’s book illustrator.
We play six classic tales, chosen from the countless stories retold or illustrated by Beni Montresor, using the images created. Six stories with six different styles, to show the rich immagination and graphic abilities of the Maestro.
His pictures will be given new life through multimedia animation, music and sounds composed for the event, and a story –teller.
The stories are taken from the following books illustrated and/or written by the Veronese artist.His works have been awarded with several recognitions: the Cadelcott Award in 1965 for May I Bring a Friend?, a New York Times mention as ‘best illustrated book’ in 1966 for the Magic Flute, and the Gold Medal of the American Society for Illustrator in the same year for I Saw A Ship A-Sailing.
